Nuremberg. The safety control b maXX®-safePLC from Baumüller has been distinguished with the red dot design award 2008. This award is one of the most important prizes in industrial design and is awarded annually by an international jury made up of 24 members. The puristic design that supports the high functionality of the b maXX®-safePLC was crucial for the decision.

With this award, the Nuremberger company Baumüller impressively proves that design can be a factor of success - even within automation and drive technology. The b maXX-safePLC safety control from Baumüller helps increase safety and reduce complexity. The need for complex wiring is eliminated, reducing the number of wires involved and minimizing the testing effort required. Integrated safety controls mean units that are coupled multiple times are completely superfluous. The combination of the standard and SIL 3 safety control reduces the complexity of the system or machine, hence enabling safe operation. This means that, compared with conventional solutions, the machine operator can also achieve a financial advantage.
