Packaging machine manufacturer wins German Packaging Award
2008 with Baumüller linear drive
Nuremberg. Packaging manufacturer ROVEMA wins the German
Packaging Award 2008 with the Baumüller LSA complete
linear axis. With its groundbreaking drive concept, the axis
uses all the advantages of direct drives in an exemplary way,
this ensuring simple handling of the packaged good.
Baumüller has developed a cost-effective concept specifically
for use in packaging and handling applications, consisting
of a complete linear axis with synchronous linear motors.
The LSA complete linear axis is an alternative to drives that
generate linear motion by means of belts, chains, and spindles.
Its ease of installation and integrated complete linear axis
design save users time and money, for instance, for commissioning.
The LSA complete linear axis has been designed to be extremely
small and compact. This extremely compact design is made possible
by the high degree of integration of the individual components.
The linear axis is based on an extruded aluminum section,
which enables numerous fastening options for the mechanical
system and peripherals (such as a brake for vertical applications,
cable drag chain, etc.). In addition, the aluminum alloy chosen
is suitable for use with food products, which opens up additional
application areas.
The complete linear axis is manufactured with a standard
length of up to 4 m; a total length of 6 m is available as
an option. The linear drive achieves velocities of up to 5
m/s with accelerations of up to 150 m/s2
